Currey Creek Leadership Pipeline
Growing Disciples, Expanding the Kingdom
Competency: To demonstrate a love for the local church by actively contributing to its unity, health, and mission.
Why This Matters: The local church is God's primary way of reaching the world and growing His people. Our love for the church is focused on Jesus' chosen instrument and the people He died for. Our service is a primary way we express that love.
What first drew you to Currey Creek? What made it feel like a place you wanted to serve?
Read: Ephesians 4:1-3
Paul urges us to 'make every effort' to keep unity. What specific attitudes and actions does he list that help us do this?
How does your role on this team specifically contribute to the church's mission to Exalt God, Engage the Culture, and Equip the Christ Follower?
At Currey Creek, we believe that serving is a vital part of discipleship. It is the practical, hands-on way we live out our faith. When you join a team, you make a crucial shift in your posture. You move from someone who primarily consumes what the church offers, to someone who actively contributes to its health and mission.
This shift is at the center of what it means to be a mature follower of Jesus. Every role, from greeting at the door to leading a small group, is an essential part of God's work in our community. You are a minister of the Gospel, using your gifts to build up the Body of Christ and create a welcoming environment where people can encounter Jesus. Your joyful service is one of the most powerful testimonies we have.
What was your single biggest takeaway from the reading?
What is one past experience or current mindset that might lead you to view church as a place that serves you, rather than a place you serve?
How does serving on a team help you connect with the people of the church, not just the programs?
